Bodhgaya features monastery or temple of countries where Buddhism is preached. Dalai Lama inaugurated a 25m high beautiful statue of Lord Buddha in the Japanese Kamakura Style in 1989. Bodhgaya is well connected with adjacent cities. It is around 12 km distance away from Gaya, 140 Km from Patna, 66 Km from Rajgir.

The nearest airport is in Patna where regular flights from Delhi, Ranchi, Chennai, Mumbai and Calcutta land. Bodhgaya is just 482 Km away from the international airport in Calcutta. Gaya is the nearest railway station where many superfast trains are available. Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) also facilitates road service to Bodhgaya. The main bus stand is located opposite to Mahabodhi Temple in Bodhgaya.
