Overview

Ajanta caves is a set of 30 magnificently rock cut Buddhist monuments constructed in 2nd century BC. These caves are located in the Aurangabad district of Maharashtra and features painting and sculptures from ancient era. The caves also depict Jataka tales and sculptures of Lord Buddha. Ajanta caves are located at a distance of 100 km from Ellora caves. Ajanta caves have been attributed as World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Itinerary Details

Day 1: Arrival at Mumbai
On arrival at Mumbai Airport, our representative will escort and assist you with hotel check-in procedure. Rest of the day is reserved for leisure and rest. You can also ask for local Mumbai sight-seeing or local shopping trip. After dinner at the hotel, night will be spent in Mumbai.

Day 2: Mumbai – Aurangabad
After a healthy breakfast at the hotel, we will leave for our tour in Western India. On our tour to Mumbai city, we will visit ‘Gate way of India’. The place is of great historical significance. It is opposite to the five star hotel-The Taj. Later the day we visit local markets of Mumbai and in the evening leave for Aurangabad. Check-in hotel on arrival at Aurangabad. After dinner at the hotel, night spent in Aurangabad.

Day 3: Aurangabad Sightseeing
Early in the morning after breakfast at the hotel, we will leave for our voyage to the world heritage sites of Ajanta and Ellora. The caves are devoted to Lord Budha and features chaityas and viharas. Chaitya halls are the shrines and Viharas are the monasteries of Buddhism preachers. Ajanta caves are studded with sculptures and paintings from Hinayana and Mahayana sect of Buddhism. After a full day voyage to Ajanta caves, we will head back to our hotel. After dinner, night spent in Aurangabad.

Day 4: Aurangabad Sightseeing
Early in the morning after breakfast at the hotel, we will proceed on our tour to Ellora caves. Ellora caves also depict sculptures and monuments from ancient era. Unlike Ajanta caves, Ellora caves represent three religions viz Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism. Ellora caves comprise of 34 monasteries and temples dedicated to these three religions. Guests will also visit Daulatabad fort and Aurangabad Fort which are famous for their architecture and structural design. Later, we head back to our hotel and after dinner, night spent in Aurangabad.

Day 5: Aurangabad – Mumbai
In the morning after breakfast at the hotel, guests will leave for Mumbai. On arrival, our representative will escort to the hotel. Later in the day, we will head to Elephanta caves. Elephanta caves are another example of fine and magnificent rock cut temples constructed in 5th century. In the evening, guests will return to the hotel and after dinner, night spent in Mumbai.

Day 6: Mumbai
In the morning after breakfast at the hotel, we will leave for sight-seeing in Mumbai city. Our last day voyage includes Juhu Beach, Hanging Gardens and Prince of Wales museum. After local sightseeing we will head back to our hotel and make arrangements to leave for the airport and board flight back home or further destinations.
